Writing Sample(Week 12)

Writing Sample

So for the last two weeks, me and my class were mostly focused on writing. So the reason we were focusing mostly on writing because we have started our writing sample. If your wondering what is a writing sample, a writing sample is a piece of writing which you write on and gets returned to you with some feedback and maybe some goals.  The number of steps we had to take were about 4 steps (1. Plan what we are going to write 2. Write your final piece 3. Edit some of it(if you want to) 4. Receive feedback). The tools we used in the activity were our brains of course, our hands, maybe some help from our teachers etc... If your wondering if I actually finished my writing sample actually the whole class did finish the writing. If you want to, you can read my writing sample right at the end of this.

What I was actually proud of was my piece of writing because of how I actually became more better, persuasive and confident than a few months ago which may have been like at beginning of the year. And also myself since it was my own piece of writing and I couldn't have done it without myself of course.

To be honest, I think I actually haven't gotten anything in my way. But I think something that actually didn't block my way even though I thought it would was something called stress/anxiety. Stress is something that usually blocks my way into something. But surprisingly it didn't and made me shocked since like I said in my last blog post I'm a person that can get stressed/anxious easily. But I still think its gonna be one of my hardest obstacles in my next activity.

Geo City Project (Week 8)

Geo City Project

So here's a little background from last week. Last week, me and my class were introduced to a new task sheet. What we saw was completely new from the other weekly tasks sheet. It included 4 tasks that we needed to finish in 2 weeks. The tasks(in order) were Geo City(geometry/maths), Diorama(reading), Game and RV design(art). First of all, we had to do this test which tested our knowledge to see how much we know about geometry. The first equation was to figure out 10 shapes that was included in the house. Next we had to find out the definition and example of the geometry objects. And lastly figure out what was the shapes names. After completing the test, we were told to choose which job you wanted and to build(tourist attractions, public works, etc..). The one that I wanted to choose was the tourist attractions. The tourist attractions was all about buildings/creations that people would like to see. For example, one of Canada's tourist attractions is the Niagara Falls and one of New Zealand's tourist attraction is the Auckland Sky Tower. The tourist attractions that I built was a zoo, a big sports arena, an aquarium and many more. But for now I will keep the rest a secret. The progress was actually kinda hard honestly. You may think its easy but trust me.. it isn't. We had to build tourist attractions in chosen shapes(ex. you have to build a sports arena shaped like a square with a circle in the middle). We also had to build 3d shapes/the buildings but I didn't have enough time for that since I was kinda slow. Thank you for reading my blog post about my geo city project and Adios.

Week 6 Reflection

Week 6 Reflection

 1. How did you go in getting through the tasks we attempted last week?

I couldn't really finish them due to like being stressed so I'd rather have more time to finish them but like that's how the world works really.

2.Did you complete them all?

Not all of them due to what I said before but at least I tried my best.

3. What learning stood out for you in a POSITIVE way (something you enjoyed, you were engaged and excited about it?) in a NEGATIVE way (didn't enjoy, struggled to understand how or what to do/was expected? What would have improved this learning? How would you have changed it?)

Something that I liked in a positive way was the typing club program(5 levels and 20 stars) since I actually had fun. But the one thing that I was thinking of in a negative way was the mathletics task(6 gold bars and 1000 points) mostly the 6 gold bars since I had to get most of the equations right I just thought they were going too hard on me.

4. Were there BLOCKERS to your learning (obstacles (people, physical environment, mindsets, tasks) that made it harder for you to stay focused, on task or complete a task)

Honestly for me, I don't think I had any blockers in my way except for stress since I'm kinda like those people who can get anxious and stressed easily.

5. What is your aim for this week and how will you improve?

My aim for this week is to work more faster and how I will is instead of doing like 1-2 task a day, I will try to do 2-5 tasks a day since I'm kinda like a slow person.

6. SELECT 1 thing from last week that you would like to include in your post - there should be a sentence explaining it and why you've selected it.

One thing I selected from last week that I would like to post about is the typing club program. I just feel like it could get rid of people's stress easily and also help people type more faster cause that's why it's here on the internet.
